Many years ago when I was first getting involved in women’s ministry and I was getting my first experiences at public speaking, I remember being absolutely terrified. My heart was very willing to go, but I was very fearful of failing at what I was trying to do for the Lord. I remember praying and praying and praying for God to help ME and on more than one occasion I left the event feeling very defeated and crushed at what I felt was not good enough which was not the case because it was exactly what I needed to see! God works good through all things for those who are called according to His purpose. God is good all the time and all the time, God is good! One morning as I was preparing for an event and had been practicing and practicing in my mind what to say so I would be sure to get it right, I found myself within a few minutes of taking the stage and my mind was absolutely blank. I could hardly remember my name. It was at that moment when I said to the Lord “Jesus, I can’t, but I know you can!”
It was a prayer of personal helplessness, but not hopelessness. Well, I walked out and took the stage and the Lord kicked in and it was the most victorious event I had experienced in my endeavor at speaking well!!! It was definitely a “woohoo” moment in my walk with the Lord! I had learned the true secret in victory in life and it was not praying for ME to do something difficult that I wanted to accomplish, but rather it was praying for Jesus to do what needed to be done! It all made sense in keeping with our Father’s Word that says “The person who trusts in themselves is a fool.” He also says that “When pride comes, then comes disgrace, but with humility comes wisdom.”
The truth is that we lack in ourselves on our own the supernatural wisdom, strength and power that only God can give to us! He tells us we can do nothing without Him. But with Him, we can do everything!!! Now how awesome is that, saints!!!! When we have an attitude of not needing God, God has to humble us before He can go to work to be glorified! He is the one to be glorified! He is the source of light and victory in us to accomplish anything in this life and when we say Lord, I am a willing vessel, but I know only you can bring about the divine and let this be done for your glory and not mine, then He is honored in what we are attempting to do. It is to believe in Him and not in ourselves! He wants to work with us so that He is glorified!
Through all of our experiences, God can use them to bring Him glory! How exciting is that and what a relief, huh? I guess you could say that when we come to the end of our rope, God takes over!
Praise the Lord that He has a plan for our lives and if He has called us to it, He will see us through it when we look to Him for the victory and are seeking to bring Him glory!!!
Let us exalt His name together! Truly He is worthy of praise and glory!!! Wow! Let us look around at all He has done. Let’s point others to Him and His Kingdom! People so need Him!!! He desires that people find Him! He desires to work through you and me, so let’s keep stepping out riding that bull of determination to trust in Him to bring the victory that brings Him glory!!! In so doing, you are fulfilling God’s dream for you with Him! Now how exciting is that, saint!!! Proud of ya for going!!! Let’s stay strong and courageous in stepping out to trust in Him and He will work everything for the good and supernaturally!!! It’s all victory!!! Woohoo!!!
