The Beauty in Waiting

Waiting on the Lord this morning has led me to hearing His heart to share that waiting on the Lord is a beautiful thing! We live in a modern society that puts so much at our convenience in an instant and it can become a mindset to hurry in life – let’s just get through this so we can go on to the next thing and then the next thing and on and on so we can get as much as possible crammed into a 24-hour period of time. Why are we in such a hurry all the time? While that has its good side in making the most of opportunity to get a lot of things done, it doesn’t work so well when it comes to waiting on the Lord. Our Father says

“But do not forget this one thing, dear friends: With the Lord a day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years are like a day.”

2 Peter 3:8

Our Father’s timetable is different than ours. His timeline goes on forever and because He is perfect in wisdom and love, we can trust that His timing is perfect for us! He has nothing but the best planned for each of us in life! Bless Him for wanting that for us as His kids! Sometimes waiting on the Lord can seem like a trial, but there is beauty in it because of what the Apostle James wrote:

“Consider it pure joy whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance and perseverance must finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.”

James 1:2-4

Do ya see it, precious saints? Waiting on the Lord develops a dependency on Him that is very healthy for us and developing a “keep goin’ in waitin'” attitude grows us! We are becoming more like Christ through it – getting stronger in life and less impatient! Getting beyond the “have to have it right now” is good for us in life as our Father’s kids!!!!!!! When we learn to wait in life, it prepares us to receive with great gratitude the blessings the Lord bestows upon us in response to our faithfulness in trusting Him and waiting on Him.  If life handed us everything that we want exactly when we want it–well, we can imagine what that would do to a child we are trying to raise! Yikes! This is our Father’s promise to us as His kids:

“In this world, you will have trouble, but take heart, for I have overcome the world.”

John 16:33

“A righteous person may have many troubles, but the Lord comes to the rescue each time.”

Psalm 34:19

Sheep Fallen

Waiting on the glory of the Lord to be revealed in the perfect time and in the perfect way is His love to help us in life. I love this song here. Breathe in of its words and exhale anxiety. Breathe back in peace and His love! Rest in knowing our Father has you in His loving care and He is working good for us all, as all the time, He is good and He is good, all the time. He does not work evil for us as He says:

“For I know the plans that I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”

Jeremiah 29:11

We are in the good hands of the Good Shepherd!!! Let us exalt His name together!!!!!!! Let Him quiet you with His love as you rest in Him and claim His victory coming for you wherever you are at in life!!!
