New day greetings beloved family of saints!!!!!!! I have a funeral to attend today out of town and I find it very interesting timing given that it is Easter weekend. As I ponder our Father’s Word today, I have been reflecting upon a man by the name of Joseph of Arimathea, a prominent member of the Sanhedrin Council who was himself waiting for the Kingdom of God. He had placed his trust in Christ within his heart! Now how awesome is that!!! Because Saturday was the Jewish Sabbath, Joseph, upon seeing the death of Jesus on the cross, made haste and went to Pilate and ask for the body of Jesus in an effort to get Him buried before the Sabbath. Pilate was actually amazed that Jesus had died so quickly and sent for his centurion to confirm it. Pilate agreed to release the body of Jesus and Joseph took Jesus, bought some linen cloth, took down the body from the cross and wrapped Jesus’ body in it. He then placed Him in His own personal burial tomb. I love the heart of this man, in that he took what he had and gave it to His King!
As I further ponder the heart of Joseph, it stands out to me that he was the first to seek Jesus after His death on the cross. It was not something that he had to do as I am sure the Romans had their ways of dealing with those that were crucified, but Joseph wanted to bless his King. There was a sign hung over Jesus’ head on the cross that He was the King of the Jews and Joseph certainly understood that! Bless him! It is the heart of our Father that in each of our days, that our hearts and thoughts be first directed towards Jesus also.
Joseph was a man who wanted to make a difference for Jesus and indeed he truly did! That is the heart of our Father for each one of us who believe in Jesus, too! Joseph was a man that could have remained in secret faith. He had been associated with the group that had put Jesus on the cross, but He was choosing to step out of the darkness of his past, taking a new step of faith in going for Jesus! Yay!!! Go Joseph!!! Like Joseph, our Father has given to each one of us resources and abilities to be able to make a difference, too and yet He is a gentleman and does not insist on it! He loves a cheerful giver and Joseph was certainly that!!! Oh, I’m a gal that wants to be zealous in serving my King, too!!! What is laid on your heart regarding Jesus, saints? How can you make a difference for Him? I’m a gal ponderin’ that with ya today!!!!!!!
“Each one should use whatever gift they have received to serve others, faithfully administering God’s grace in its various forms.”
1 Peter 4:10
I love the inspiration of this song here. It gets me all fired up in heart to go into the light, serving others for the One who gave His life for me like Joseph! He loved His Lord and I sure see why!!! How sweet is our Jesus!!! He sooo loves us each one, oh sooo special!!! Blessed kids are all who have faith that He gave His all for us so that we can have forever life with Him. In awe of my King today! How about you?
