Well, it is a miracle of a new day today, precious family and everything about our life today is a living miracle moment by moment!!! Wow!!! How does God do what He does??? Some things are just too wonderful for my pea picker mind to know, but I do know that our Father is constantly showing us He loves and cares for us!!! The compassion of His heart is revealed to me today in the story of when Jesus attended a wedding with His mother at Cana in Galilee. Jesus’ mother was there with Jesus and His disciples when Mary informed Jesus that the wedding hosts had run out of wine. Culturally, wine was the most important part of the wedding and to have such a disappointment would be a social disgrace to the family, one that would haunt them all their married life. In this situation, Mary was a woman who made a difference in these ways:
- She turned to God with the matter by going to Jesus and telling Him of the problem
- When Jesus asked her why she was involving Him as His time had not yet come for His miracles to be recognized publicly, Mary didn’t back down in resting her faith in Him.
- She said to the servants of the wedding – “Do whatever He tells you.” That was her way of stepping in faith that Jesus would act and she was also submitting to Jesus’ will – His plan for how He thought it best to handle the situation for the good!!! Good moves, woman!!! That rocked!!!
As the story goes, Jesus honored His mother’s heart and turned the water into wine and it was His first miracle performed publicly that produced the best wine ever and the wedding hosts were complimented by their guests saying in essence “Wow, you’ve been holding out on us – now you are bringing out the best stuff at the end of the wedding!” Ha, ha, ha!!! It really impressed His disciples, too!!! They put their faith in Him. That must have really blessed Jesus’ heart!!! When Jesus puts His divine touch on the circumstances in our lives, it is the divine best always as He says:
“For I know the plans that I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”
Jeremiah 29:11 NIV
“And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him, who have been called according to His purpose.”
Romans 8:28 NIV
He also tells us the same as what Mary already knew and put into practice and that is:
“Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.”
Jeremiah 29:12-13 NIV
Where do you need our Father’s best for you in life today, saints??? Let us approach our King with confidence and hold to His promise that as we seek Him with a heart full of faith as Mary did, that He will work our circumstances out in the very best way for each one of us because He has a heart of compassion for us!!!
He loves it when we, like Mary, rest the circumstances with Him to handle them in the best miraculous ways!!! Oh, how awesome it is that we have one such as He who loves us miraculously every moment of our every day of life!!! I love this song here. Enjoy the miracle of life with our King today. His love is evident all around us!!! Blessed kids are we!!!
