New day greetings, family of saints!!! Yesterday, I wrote about our Father’s heart for His church to be “hot” meaning alive and fervent with intense/passionate feelings for the cause of Christ!!! WOOOHOOO!!! It doesn’t take arm twisting for me to jump on the band wagon for Jesus’ kingdom work, but sometimes God’s people can get discouraged as it appears to be the case of the church in Sardis that Jesus, who is described as He who has the seven Spirits of God and the seven stars” spoke to. Seven is a number that symbolizes Father’s perfection and oh our dear Jesus is in fact perfect in being and in all of His ways!!! In this case, it refers to the seven angels of His churches.
The story of the church of Sardis is that they were a church well known for their deeds and they had made a name for themselves that they were alive, but at the time of Jesus’ writing, He saw that they were “dead.” I love it that while this was the state that they were in due to the enemy, Jesus did not see their situation as hopeless or done by any means. He was not about to give up on them!!! His Words to them were very encouraging as to their hopeful future when He said to them:
“Wake up, and strengthen the things that remain, which were about to die; for I have not found your deeds completed in the sight of My God.”
Oh this thought just makes me smile today as I hear our Father saying no matter what the state you are in in Him, you are not dead and done, but with new opportunity to come “alive” (radically change in attitude) and be strong!!! YYYEEESSS!!! HOOORAH!!! Let’s go, Jesus!!! We are more than conquerors in all things through You who loves us!!! Ruh, ruh, ruh!!! Keeping the faith in Him who is our forever hope who leads us always in triumphant procession leads to the divine outcome!!! 🙂 I love that!!!
Jesus saw things about the church of Sardis’ past that He called them to “remember what they had received and heard” (evaluated experience) and He beckoned them to “keep it” (remember it) and “repent” (turn from what was not of our Father’s heart). He warned them that He is coming soon like a thief in the night and that they knew not what hour!!! Oh let us rock on for Jesus while it is day, beloved saints!!! In application of these words, “What have you received and heard, dear ones???” I ask myself the same thing!!! “How do we need to turn from what is not of our Father’s heart???” Father has a divine plan for us to walk with Him in white, for we are worthy!!! YYYIIIPPPEEE!!! “What remains and how can we strengthen it???” Father has not yet found our deeds complete because He has not returned yet, so let’s rock on for the King!!! Oh now that just has me all lit up and rearing to go for Jesus!!! “Where are you going???” I ask myself that question, too!!! Let’s go with Jesus!!! Amen?!!
Jesus saw in the midst of the church a few who had been faithful: they had “not soiled their garments” and He said that they would “walk with Him in white, for they are worthy.” Oh when we have faith in our Father as our Savior, we are robed in garments of white!!! Let us continue to be those faithful who do not let the enemy of this world put the soil of guilt and shame upon our garments of righteousness that we are clothed in!!! When we allow that to happen, no wonder people lose their motivation and appear dead!!! Jesus said to the church:
“He/she who overcomes will thus be clothed in white garments and I will not erase their name from the book of life, and I will confess his/her name before My Father and before His angels. He/she who has an ear, let him/her hear what the Spirit says to the churches.”
How do we overcome??? Jesus tells us:
“Now the salvation, and the power, and the kingdom of our God and the authority of His Christ have come, for the accuser of our brethren (sisters, too) has been thrown down, he who accuses them before our God day and night. And they overcame him because of the blood of the Lamb and because of the word of their testimony, and they did not love their life even when faced with death.”
Oh that Satan dude is always wanting to destroy and make dead, but we are “alive” because of the blood of the Lamb and because of the word of our testimony of faith that we speak against the enemy!!! We are not done until Jesus says we are done – it doesn’t matter what the enemy says!!! Jesus has the final word:
Power on saints!!! Got words of your testimony of faith that you can fire back at the enemy of us as kids of faith??? I do – JESUS SEES US AS HOLY, WITHOUT BLEMISH, WITHOUT ACCUSATION AND WITH NO CONDEMNATION!!! So “Kowabunga devil dude” – in the name of Jesus and thru His blood, you have no authority in the midst of the family of Christ!!!” We are forever ALIVE!!!
I find it interesting that the saints in this church didn’t value their life even when faced with death – the death of faith that the accuser wanted to bring upon the saints!!! They put their faith over anything this world’s enemy could throw at them and they were willing to fight him for it!!! We shall overcome in Jesus as this song says here. We have overcome because Jesus has won our victory over the enemy!!! Let us “come awake” and claim it!!!
