I’m a gal happy to be doing life with you today, dear saints!!! Our Father has given us the special privilege of knowing His mind as He tells us in His Word, although our wisdom is not equal to His in knowing all things as His Word tells us:
“Who has known the mind of the Lord as to instruct Him?” But we have the mind of Christ.”
1 Corinthians 2:16NASB
Jesus desires that we know His heart, His truth, His best found in His written Word the Bible so that we are not led astray and so that we do not lead others astray from what is truth and the best!!!
Our minds and thoughts are important reflections of the image of our precious Father and what a great opportunity and privilege we have to be able to share His truth and His insights to make a forever difference not only in our own personal lives, but in the lives of others!!! YYYEEESSS!!! I love that thought!!!
Because our Father is such an important part of our victory in life, Jesus calls us to “love Him with all our heart, with all our mind, with all our soul and with all our strength” (Mark 12:30) and to take captive our thoughts in obedience to His truth. (2 Corinthians 10:5) To draw those boundaries in our thinking has three parts:
- Owning our own thoughts and not letting the thoughts of others dominate over Jesus’ heart for us. In other words, it is good to think about our thinking!!! 🙂 We can “sharpen” each other as iron sharpens iron, but be separate with Jesus in our thinking!!!
- Let’s grow our divine thoughts!!! Because our Father’s Word is sooo beneficial to us in our personal lives and in bringing Him glory, it is good to seek to grow in our knowledge of our Father’s mind!!! Oh I agree with King David when he wrote of our Father’s Word “Your statutes are my delight; they are my counselors.” (Ps 119:24)
- Make clear any distorted thoughts. Often times there can be distorted thoughts when we as people do not see things clearly. This happens often in personal relationships. Our thoughts can be distorted by past relationships, we can have preconceptions about who we think people are and where they are coming from, even the people we know best!!! Sometimes we don’t see clearly because of “logs” in our own eyes – laugh out loud and ouch!!! Oh that can be HUGE!!! (Mt 7:3-5) Therefore, it is good to have an open mind as to where we each may be wrong in our thinking!!! New information leads to adapted thinking that leads to growing closer to reality or truth!!! It is also important to communicate what is on our mind to others because Jesus has not enabled us to read the minds of each other!!! Say what??? True!!! 🙂 Only Jesus has the ability to do that and oh I am sooo thankful that He can and does work to help us each one of His kids of faith!!! The Apostle Paul tells us this: “For who among men/women knows the thoughts of a man/woman except the spirit of the man/woman which is in him/her? Even so, the thoughts of God no one knows except the Spirit of God. Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, so that we may know the things freely given to us by God, which things we also speak, not in words taught by human wisdom, but in those taught by the Spirit, combining spiritual thoughts with spiritual words.” (1 Corinthians 2:11-13) This can be called intuition and discernment led by the Holy Spirit. We have our own god-given thoughts and if we want others to know them for sure, we must tell them for them to know what is true reality. Otherwise, they guess and can guess wrong!!!
To seek to implement these boundaries in our thinking in life is to seek to bring our Father glory and honor, to have the divine best life for ourselves and to have valuable truth to communicate to help others. Given these thoughts, where is our Father revealing that there may be thoughts that need to be cleared up and clarified in our lives??? I ask myself the same!!! This we can know, our Father has the perfect way to do so and He will reveal it to us as we seek His Spirit’s help!!! The voice of truth is an awesome powerful divine gift our Father gives to us. We can rest in this truth, our Father loves us each one with unfailing, unconditional love and nothing can ever separate us from His love!!! He is always for us and always working all things for the good of those called according to His purpose. WOOOHOOO!!! That just keeps me smiling all the time because all the ways of Jesus are always good as this song says here.
