Claiming His Peace

Hi, sweet family!!! Today I want to share with you how our Father desires for His kid’s of faith to walk in His freedom in life. I want to share this with you because it makes a huge difference in our joy in life and puts us in life where our Father desires us to be, doing what it is our Father has purposed and called us to do. Sooo often decisions can be made based on fear in relationships and it takes turning to our Father to let Him guide us in the ways of freedom as His Word tells us:

“For the word of God is living and active and sharper than any two-edged sword, and piercing as far as the division of soul and spirit, of both joints and marrow, and able to judge the thoughts and intentions of the heart.”

Hebrews 4:12NASB

Double-edged Sword

Our Father’s Spirit speaking to us individually can reveal to us our true motives in life. Our Father is far more concerned about our inner hearts than in our outer performance. An inner no nullifies an external yes. While one may seek to make things look good outwardly to others, the heart can be totally opposite. This is often because of fear in relationships and our Father tells us that in perfect love, there is no fear!!! Our Father’s love for us is perfect love!!! We need have no fear in our relationship with Jesus!!! Thru His finished work on the cross, thru our faith in what He has done for us, we are forever set free from the law of performance for His love and acceptance of us!!! He loves us with unfailing, unconditional love!!! He desires that we put off falsehood and walk in truth, resting in His love for us as sufficient to enable us to say no or yes in life, knowing He desires our freedom to walk with Him who has our best interest at heart always. For example:

John Doe is asked to join a Bible study group by someone insensitive to the freedoms of others. He says to John “So which one of these studies can I put you down for?” John thinks to himself “I could say none of them, but he’s a ranking officer who could jeopardize my relationship with many of the people in that group.”  He wonders which class will be the shortest. He guesses and chooses one and finds out it is an 18-month commitment. “Great, the Bible leader says to John.” I’ll see you on Monday!!! At first glance, it looks like John made a choice of obedience because he agreed to join a Bible study which should be good, right??? However, at second glance, John’s heart was not into it for the right reasons. He was joining it out of social fear. He feared he might lose other important relationships if he said no to the Bible study leader.

The truth that it is important for us to remember in life is our Father’s heart for us that says:

“For I delight in loyalty rather than sacrifice, and in the knowledge of God rather than burnt offerings.”

Hosea 6:6NASB

In other words, our Father wants our hearts to be into what it is that we do in life as He tells us in His Word here:

“Each one must do just as he/she has purposed in his/her heart, not grudgingly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.”

2 Corinthians 9:7NASB

When we are resting in our Father’s all sufficient grace for us thru the cross, knowing we do not have to do anything to be loved and accepted by Him, we can gladly choose to let our Father guide our hearts to carry out His will, His plan and His purpose for us in life.

Our hearts are going to want to join Him in where He is working in life!!! We will want to say yes or no to something of Him because it is in agreement with our love for our Father and how His Spirit is working in us to will and act according to His purpose for us in life!!! His sufficient grace will be with us to carry out the task as He promises:

“And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that always having all sufficiency in everything, you may have an abundance for every good deed…”

2 Corinthians 9:8NASB

Freedom Eagle

It is because He is showing our hearts that it is of divine motive that we can choose whether or not we do something rather than basing our choices on motives not of Him. If we say yes when we really should say no, we move into a place of compliance and that is the same thing as lying. YIKES!!! It is always good when we say yes or no based on divine love as our motive. Our Father’s heart is not to make choices out of fear because fear has to do with punishment and that is not something we as our Father’s kids need fear. There is no condemnation for those in Christ Jesus!!! Our Father understands how easy it is to fear and so He often told His people all throughout the Bible “Do not fear, for I am with you.”

In John’s case, most likely some God-given priority may have occurred that will necessitate John not following thru with his confused yes and the conversation may never take place with the Bible leader as to the real reason he said yes in the first place. Oh we need not be slaves to fear, dear ones!!! Our sweet Father has set us free from fear and we are safe in Him as His child as this song says here. Is there somewhere that you are lacking peace in what you are doing or being asked to do??? I encourage you to ask our Father His heart in whatever it is and what is the right way to gain His freedom in it. What is He telling you??? Let us be strong and courageous in going for what is divine and of our Father who loves us with unfailing, unconditional love forever!!! It makes for the joyful, happy and peaceful heart in us!!! Claim Father’s freedom for you – it is His heart for us all as His kids of faith!!! Oh that just makes me smile to think of hearts at peace in Jesus!!! 🙂
