I chuckle today dear ones because sometimes we as God’s people look to God to do things that He wants us to do ourselves. I am not sure how Father will speak to you thru this message, but it is something to pray about. Sometimes we can think that it is God’s job to make something different and God is looking at us saying “YOU do this!!!” Some examples from Biblical times:
- Jesus asked the disciples to feed the 5,000
- Father asked Moses to go to Pharoah
- Father asked Joshua to lead His people to a land flowing with milk and honey
- Father asked Mary to carry baby Jesus before she was married to Joseph.
- Father asked Martha to trust Him when He asked that the stone be rolled back from the tomb of Lazarus even though he now dead and stunk.
There are many more Biblical examples of when God asked His saints to trust Him in their going forth to carry out what was beyond them personally, but one story I want to share in more detail is the story of Gideon. This is where we find Gideon:
- Gideon is distraught and beating out wheat in the wine press in order to save it from the Midianites (a group of idol worshippers who were always leading God’s people astray) and I love how God approaches him in such a way as to build him up in courage:
“The LORD is with you, O valiant warrior.”
Gideon and the Lord are about to play throw the ball back and forth as Gideon then responds to God (with reverence of course):
“O my Lord, if the Lord is with us, why then has all this happened to us?” And where are all His miracles which our fathers told us about, saying “Did not the LORD bring us up from Egypt?” But now the LORD has abandoned us and given us into the hand of the Midian.” I really see a Father seeking to encourage His son now as Father’s Word says “the LORD looked at him and said “Go in your strength and deliver Israel from the hand of Midian. Have I not sent YOU?”
M’WAH??? That is a slang word that has several meanings, but one is “me needs a hug.” 🙂 Have you ever felt like that when our Father asks you to go and do something that is going to take our Father’s supernatural strength working thru ya??? Oh, I can relate to that!!! I can imagine Gideon saying that “me needs a hug” to the LORD when he asks the Lord “O Lord how shall I deliver Israel? Behold, my family is the least in Manasseh, and I am the youngest in my father’s house.” This statement speaks of a lack of self confidence in his ability to bring about such a divine feat and that mindset is healthy to the point that we must trust in our Father with us to bring about the divine. When our Father asks us to step out to do something for Him, He believes in us just as our Father believed in Gideon to carry out the call upon his life as evidenced by the Lord saying “Surely I will be with you, and you shall defeat Midian as one man.” HOOORRRAAAHHH!!! RUH, RUH, RUH!!! POWER UP YYYEEESSS WE CAN WITH JESUS WORKING WITH US TO DO THE DIVINE HEAVENLY!!! 🙂
Upon hearing the Lord, Gideon responded by worshipping the Lord with a sacrifice for having seen the angel of the Lord face to face and the Lord responded by saying “Peace to you, do not fear; you shall not die.” Gideon then built an altar of worship to the Lord and named it “The Lord is Peace.” I can relate to that because I have experienced this – that when we receive revelation from our Father, it is clear we have seen His heart to us and there is a peace that comes over us that is a blessed reassurance that it is going to be alright and that we can do what it is He is asking us to do with Him with us!!! We just want to move “God-ward” (in the direction of God’s heart) for divine purpose and divine victory!!! OH BRING IT ALWAYS SWEET JESUS!!!
Once Gideon heard from the Lord and had the Father’s peace and realized the Lord had confidence in him to bring about the Lord’s dream thru him, he moved forward and the result was that “Midian was subdued before the sons of Israel and they did not lift up their heads anymore And the land was undisturbed for forty years in the days of Gideon.” (Judges 8:28) I love that – there was peace as Gideon had seen about our Father when he said “The Lord is Peace.”
Is there a miracle or victory that our Father is asking of YOU, dear one??? This we can always know, if Father calls us to it, we will not go alone for He will be with us and He will never leave us nor forsake us!!! As we abide in Him and He in us, we will bear much fruit!!! Oh that thought just makes me smile!!! Let us go courageous as Father asks us to as this song says here. Proud of YOU for doing so, beloved ones of faith!!! I’m a gal going courageous for Father too, trusting in Him to be our sufficiency!!! Father will not forget what ya do for Him to show Him love and help His people and continue to help them – we will get our hugs for being courageous!!! 🙂
